Updates, Ongoing Support & Volunteer Opportunities
Smiles for Abby recently distributed 40 Summer-themed gifts to all patients on the seventh floor of the Penn State Cancer Institute. Gifts included a tabletop cornhole game, puzzle, tumbler with iced tea and lemonade drink packets, and other things to bring a bit of summer to patients in the hospital!
Smiles for Abby recently distributed 15 additional care packages to Penn State Hershey Medical center in May and 20 additional care packages to Geisinger Outpatient Cancer Centers in mid-June.
Smiles for Abby donated 60 PICC line sleeves to Penn State Hershey Medical Center to support young adult cancer patients. PICC lines (Peripherally Inserted Central Catheters) are often used to deliver chemotherapy and other intravenous treatments, and are typically placed in the patient’s arm for extended periods—sometimes for several months.These specially designed sleeves help protect the line during daily activities like showering, offering both practical support and peace of mind. Many newly diagnosed patients aren't aware that these sleeves exist, so we hope this donation helps fill an important gap in care and comfort.

Donate Today
Monetary donations are used to create care packages, purchase items not donated by the community, and cover shipping costs for recipients across the United States. A donation of $10 covers the production cost of one care package bag, $20 covers the shipping cost for one bag, and $75 covers the cost of all the contents for one care package.
