Mental Health Support

Hearing the words “You have cancer” is undoubtedly one of the most difficult things a person can hear. It’s important to remember that mental health needs are just as important as physical health needs. Some resources to help those struggling include:

  • Patti Kauffman First Connection Program
    • The Patti Robinson Kaufmann First Connection Program is a free service of The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS) that introduces blood cancer patients and their loved ones to a trained peer volunteer who has gone through a similar experience. Patients and their family members are matched with peer volunteers based on diagnosis, age, gender and other factors that might create a mutual understanding and ease of communication.

  • CancerCare Caregiver Support
